Light House was awarded the best local non-profit at the Best of Annapolis 2010 awards!
The Light House is a program of Annapolis Area Ministries, Inc. and is supported by the fundraising efforts of the Friends of Light House Shelter, Inc. - both are 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations. We depend on the constant financial support and volunteer contributions from many private citizens, members of the the faith-based community, business partners, and government agencies.
The Light House shelter's board, staff, and current and future clients express profound gratitude to Jay Livingston, Richard Kozel and the employees of Livingston Fire Protection for their generous support. Despite a tough economy, they are committed to giving back to this community.

Jay and Livingston Fire Protection President Richard Kozel generously offered to donate and install the new building's fire protection system, valued at $75,000. This gift in-kind had a double benefit of helping Light House to win several highly competitive grants, including $1,200,000 from the State of Maryland and $575,000 from the Kresge Foundation. Livingston Fire Protection was onsite at the new building these last few weeks, installing sprinklers.
